Guccio Gucci was born in Florence in 1881 and at the age of 17 he left Italy and immigrated to London. when he was teenager, he worked as a maid in a hotel. As he was working in the hotel, he was fascinated by the passengers and their leather suitcases, and at the age of 24, he decided to return to Italy and start a small business selling saddles.

In 1921 he opened a shop, selling leather products and decorated accessories. He gradually started mass production and in the first days of his work, he hired artists and professional workers of the Florence leather industry to bring high quality products to the market.

In 1938, Guccio opened the first GUCCI boutique in Rome's Via Condotti, which was one of the most famous fashion streets at that time.

Gucci sold its products to America and opened its first branch in America in 1945, and this was a great start for GUCCI's globalization.

Aldo and Rodolfo, Guccio's two sons, decided to expand their business in 1953. They opened their first store in New York City.

15 days after opening the store in New York, Guccio Gucci died at the age of 72.

7 years after opening GUCCI store in New York, this famous brand took their place of business to the famous Fifth Avenue in New York. After New York, Florida, London and Beverly Hills were their next destinations.

GUCCI introduced the first leather bag with a bamboo handle to the market in 1947.

Aldo Gucci designed two G letters for the GUCCI brand in 1960. This design in its simplicity represented the name of the founder GUCCI, which was used in the following years with different designs in Gucci products.

GUCCI become more famous in 1970 by producing several new products. In fact, the first collection was Rolls Royce suitcases, and after that watches, jewelry, ties and glasses were added to its products.

In 1983, Guccio's son Rodolfo died of cancer and his son Maurizio took over the full management of GUCCI in 1989.

Maurizio was murdered in 1995, and after a few years it became known that his ex-wife murdered him.
